Anxiety
Anxiety manifests in many forms; panic, OCD, shyness, phobias, worry, fear, and various other ways. Anxiety itself is an entirely natural reaction to a threat or danger. So, when you have that feeling of fear or panic, your body is trying to warn you to escape that situation ASAP or get ready to fight for your life. Unfortunately, our mind sometimes doesn’t differentiate between imagination and real situations. So, when you imagine awful, unbearable scenarios about the future, which are unlikely to happen, you trigger what is called a ‘fight or flight’ response. Now everything comes to your thoughts. Specific thoughts about an event or situation will prompt feelings of fear or worry and cause anxiety with symptoms such as breathing issues, trembling, sweating, and a racing heart. Sometimes healthy thoughts can cause ‘concern’; this is considered similar to anxiety but is usually less intense an emotion. Concern does not trigger fight or flight. I support individuals with their reaction to situations, so they react with ‘concern’ instead of ‘anxiety’ throughout life’s harmful and threatening experiences. Hypnotherapy helps them to manage their lives rationally and positively. In my sessions, we work out any thoughts that make you feel anxious, panicked, insecure or worried. And we work to alter them so that you begin thinking rationally and experiencing healthy levels of stress and emotion.
I can help with:
- Learning to deal with life’s adverse events and triggers
- Living logically and positively
- Experiencing healthy emotions again
